Now, to conquer social media like a pro

check out the consequent suggestions:

  1. Look at what others in your industry are doing – research, research, research! Don’t waste time on trial and error; instead, dedicate some time to understanding how others in your industry connect with their market and generate your own approach.

  2. Be persistent, Interact one-to-one and be reciprocal – engagement is a two-way process, and by being reciprocal, you’re encouraging feedback and communication.

  3. Talk the native platform language – whichever platform you are using, make sure to use its native language. For example, here’s how to talk the Twitter talk.

  4. Employ a soft-sell strategy - consumers are becoming more dubious of media, advertising and being “sold” to. Need more information on how to soft-sell?

  5. Be authentic as authenticity always wins! Research and imitate but avoid plagiarizing other people’s content and approach your communication with authenticity.

To sum it up, know your target market and who is interacting with your posts or content. Do your research and understand the industry and platform you are using very well. Employ a soft-sell strategy and keep being authentic!

Before you go!...

With the four types of users listed above, which one do you think describes you best?

Hi Jehan - this is a fantastic post. I was super engaged by the way you combined the different types of social media with imagery and then gave pro tips - the articles on the links were really useful. I reckon I'm a professional SM user because I don't really use social media for fun, but like the more serious, in-depth side. I'm interested about the most important part of being an online maven from your list of pro tips. Do you think it is is authenticity?

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!

I believe authenticity can go a long way as many people who consume a lot of online information can tell if they had come across something before and may lose interest quickly. Fresh, innovative and new ideas are always positive.
